Odisha Staff Selection Commission is going to conduct the written test examination for the post of Inspector Of Cooperative Societies (ICS) in Odisha. The selection process consists of THREE Steps, Viz Preliminary written examination, Main Written Examination and Viva voce test. OSSC Inspector Of Cooperative Societies exam consists of three steps as mentioned below.
A. Preliminary Examination on General Awareness : 100 marks (qualifying) : 1:30 Hour
B. Main written examination – 200 marks
- General English : 1 hour : 50 marks (Descriptive)
- Odia Language : 1 hour : 50 marks (Descriptive)
- Mathematics, General Studies & Computer application (45+40+15) : 100 marks : (OMR system) : 1 hour
Total : 200 marks
C. Viva voce mark : 25 marks
OSSC Inspector Of Cooperative Societies Syllabus Exam Pattern
In OSSC Inspector Of Cooperative Societies Syllabus exam, the question will be based on the following syllabus.
A. Preliminary Examination : 100 Marks
The preliminary examination will be of 100 marks on General Awareness with multiple choices of answers. The question will cover different fields of knowledge such as General Science, Current affairs, Socio economic development, Indian polity, History, Geography and Arithmetic of HSC standard. The answer scripts will be in OMR form. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. This examination will be a screening test, qualifying in nature, to short list candidates for main written examination. Candidates about 12 times of the number of vacancies in each category shall be called for appearing the main written examination.
B. Main written examination : 200 Marks
General English:-It is descriptive in nature. The questions will include comprehension of a given passage, précis writing, usages & vocabulary, short essay writing, letter writing and knowledge of grammar.
Odia Language- It is descriptive in nature. The questions will include comprehension of a given passage, letter writing, application, report writing, usages & vocabulary, short essay writing, translation from English to Odia and grammar.
General Studies- The question shall be of objective type of 40 questions with multiple choice of answers. The candidate has to answer in OMR sheet. The questions will cover the fields of knowledge on World & Indian Geography with special reference to Geography of Odisha, Indian polity & economy, Indian History ,Human Rights, current affairs, General Science, Cooperative institutions etc.
Mathematics :- The question shall be of objective type of 45 questions with multiple choice of answers. The candidate has to answer in OMR sheet. The question will cover the number system, Ratio and proportion, Partnership, percentage, Time & work, Profit & loss, I ate & Taxes, Time & Distance, Simple and compound Interest, Elementary Algebra, Mensuration, Statistics, probability, Mental Reasoning of HSC standard.
Computer Application:- The question shall be of objective type of 15 questions with multiple choice of answers. The candidate has to answer in OMR sheet. The question will cover Computer fundamentals, M.S (Windows), M.S (Word), M.S (Excel), M.S (Access), M.S (Power point), Information Technology & Internet etc.
C. Viva Voce test : 25 Marks
The viva voce mark may be of 25 marks. Based on the performance in the written examination, candidates numbering up to 3 times the number of vacancies in the respective categories may be called for viva voce test.
